E-books are a concept which allow the reader to create and become a part of the story they are listening to or reading. E-books can be anything from a digital version of a book or story to more interactive types of information involving the use of multimedia and hyperlinks. There are a number of different things which make an e-book unique such as the different types of animations used, the variety and the way in which graphics are used and also the mediums in which they are presented.
E-books are a type of technology which are being increasingly more used in the classroom. They can be used to help when teaching students to read as they can provide more visual stimulation and associate the visual text with verbal reinforcement. They can also be a worthwhile activity for students to tell their stories they have written. Different programs can be used to allow students to transfer something they have written on paper to include not only text but images, animations, sounds and verbal multimedia.
